All-on-4, All-on-X Dental Implants or Full arch dental implants
The All-on-4 dental implant technique has emerged as a revolutionary approach for replacing all the teeth in the top, bottom or both jaws if needed to provide both aesthetics and function, restoring confidence in your smile.
Understanding All on X Dental Implants – $27,500 per arch
Full arch dental implants offer a comprehensive and fixed solution for people with multiple missing, loose, or damaged teeth. Unlike traditional dentures or individual implants, the All-on-4 technique utilises a minimum of four strategically placed implants to support a set of replacement teeth. This approach means less time in the dental chair and fewer visits. Typically, a planning phase involves discussing the process, taking scans of the current teeth and the available bone, and taking photos to help with planning. The surgical visit is usually carried out under intravenous sedation and local anaesthetic, making the experience as comfortable as possible. Within a few days, our lab will have fabricated temporary teeth, which are fixed in for a period of 3-6 months. Once everything in the mouth has healed, the temporary teeth are then replaced with porcelain teeth to provide a long-term, functional, and aesthetic result.
Our Practice
Step-by-Step Process
Replacing all teeth with dental implants through the All-on-4 technique involves carefully orchestrated steps requiring precision and expertise. Here are the steps:
- Initial Consultation
The journey begins with in-depth consultations with our Implantologist, Dr Connor Willis. This involves thoroughly examining the patient’s oral health, dental history, full mouth X-ray and medical records. Along with a discussion of concerns and the expected outcome of treatment. - Diagnostics
X-rays, CT scans, and 3D imaging may be performed to assess bone quality and quantity. A personalised treatment plan is formulated based on the evaluation. This includes designing the shape, size, and appearance of the replacement teeth and mapping out the implant positions. - Implant Placement
On the day of the procedure, Dr Connor and his team will use a combination of intravenous sedation and local anaesthetic to remove the teeth that are not required and to place the dental implants. The implants are placed in a position to maximise their stability, spread the biting forces, and provide a prosthetically driven position to make the final teeth as natural looking as possible. - Temporary Teeth
After implant placements, temporary acrylic or milled PMMA teeth get attached to implants, allowing a patient to leave the office with functional teeth within the week. - Healing Period
Over next few months, the implants undergo osseointegration, during which they ‘fuse’ with your jawbone. During this phase, patients must follow proper oral hygiene practices and adhere to dietary restrictions to give the implants the best possible chance of osseointergration. - Final Restoration
Once osseointegration is complete, temporary prosthetics get replaced with custom-crafted prosthetic teeth meticulously designed to match a natural smile. - Follow-up Care
Regular check-ups with the implant hygiene team are necessary to monitor the health of the implants and address any concerns.
Benefits on 4 Dental Implants
The All-on-4 dental implant technique offers numerous advantages for individuals seeking to replace all their teeth:
Enhanced Stability
Using a minimum four implants, All-on-4 provides a stable foundation for the replacement teeth. This prevents movement, enhances speech, and restores the ability to eat various foods when compared with the denture alternative.
Improved Aesthetics
All-on-4 implants are customised to match the shape, colour, and size of the patient’s natural teeth (lower or upper teeth if still present), resulting in a natural and an aesthetically pleasing smile.
Time Efficiency
Unlike traditional implant methods that require numerous surgeries and a longer healing period, All-on-4 implants significantly reduce the treatment time, often allowing a patient to leave with a new set of fixed teeth within the week.
Boosted Self-Confidence
All-on-4 implants restore not only the physical aspects of the smile but also the psychological well-being of patients who may have suffered from the embarrassment of missing teeth or the anxiety over their current dentures moving.
Considerations and Aftercare
Once the All on 4 implant procedure is complete, a key aspect of achieving lasting results is careful consideration and diligent aftercare. Here, we explore essential factors to bear in mind and practices to uphold for the continued health and functionality of your new smile:
Oral Hygiene
Proper oral care, including brushing, waterpik use, and regular dental visits, is essential to maintain the longevity of All-on-4 implants.
Dietary Changes
A soft-food diet is initially recommended to avoid stress on the implants during the healing phase.
Follow-up Appointments
Regular check-ups with the implant hygiene team are necessary to monitor the health of the implants and address any concerns.
